Ohio Star

This versatile star block is quite popular and easy to piece. It is constructed with nine squares, using a combination of quarter-square triangles and solid squares.

1 Cut fabrics for each block.

• Light Fabric A:

- Cut four 4½" squares (outer squares).

- Cut two 5¼" squares (quarter-square triangles).

• Dark Fabric B:

- Cut one 4½" square (center).

- Cut two 5¼" squares (quarter-square triangles).

2 Prepare half-square triangles from light and dark 5¼" squares following instructions on p. 64.

3 Prepare quarter-square triangles from half-square triangle squares following instructions on p. 72.

4 Join quarter-square triangle squares and solid squares, right sides together, to form rows following placement illustration. Press seams in adjacent rows in opposite directions.
